Our Class Offerings:

License To Carry Instruction
In order to receive a License To Carry (formerly known as "Concealed Handgun License"), the State of Texas requires that each new applicant complete 4-6 hours of in-class training, pass a written test and pass a shooting proficiency test demonstrating pistol familiarity and how to operate it safely - - all under the supervision of a licensed and certified Texas LTC Instructor.  The 4-6 hour classroom portion is held in a safe (no ammunition will be allowed in the classroom), comfortable environment and the 1-2 hour range portion is conducted a short drive from the classroom in a safe, efficient and enjoyable manner.

Topics we'll discuss include:

  • the laws that relate to weapons and to deadly force
  • handgun use, proficiency and safety, including use of holsters and methods to ensure the secure carrying of openly carried handguns
  • non-violent dispute resolution
  • proper storage practices for handguns, especially if there are children in the home

We'll also cover:

  • basic marksmanship, including weapon selection, grip and stance
  • concealed carry methods
  • real life problems/solutions once you receive your LTC

As of September 21, 2013, House Bill 48 elimiminated the requirement for LTC holders to attend a renewal course or to demonstrate proficiency in order to renew their License.  LTC holders should complete a renewal application online and their LTC may be renewed for up to one year after expiration, but there is no grace period for continuing to carry once the LTC has expired.

Skills and Drills
This class is geared toward improving your skills and muscle memory by helping you to develop a proper grip, shooting stance and smooth draw.  Some of the things we'll work with you on include:

  • F.A.S.T. drills (Fundamentals, Accuracy, Speed and Trigger control)
  • strong hand/weak hand firing
  • malfunctions and tactical reloading on the fly
  • wounded shooter and stress fire drills
Whether you are a beginner or an advanced shooter, these drills are sure to improve your skills.  Click here for more information about this class.

No Fear
This class is specifically designed for women (or men) who have little or no experience with firearms.  Whether your goal is to level the playing field in dangerous situations, have more fun with your family and friends during hunting season or to just be at peace with a firearm in the house, this is the class for you.  Our discussion, of course, will be heavy on firearm safety, but you'll also learn:

  • what will and what won't make a gun go "bang"
  • why you should not call shells bullets and visa versa
  • which side you should pick if you go shooting at the range with a buddy
  • what some of your personal protection choices are
  • what are some of the emotions associated with pulling a trigger
We'll not only answer all your questions, but we'll encourage them.  Click here for more information about this class.
